Berkley Choppo Topwater Lure

The Berkley Choppo Topwater Lure delivers loud, aggressive surface action designed to trigger explosive strikes from bass. Its cupped propeller tail throws water and creates a distinct plopping sound while the balanced body keeps the bait running straight at a variety of retrieve speeds.

Easy to fish around shallow cover, points, grass lines, docks, and open water, the Choppo can be burned across the surface to cover water or slowed down when fish want a more deliberate presentation. Equipped with sharp Fusion19 treble hooks, it’s a versatile topwater bait for targeting largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass throughout the warmer months.

Best Ways to Fish It: Cast it past your target and use a steady retrieve to keep the tail churning across the surface. Speed it up when bass are active or slow it down and mix in short pauses around high-percentage cover.

Best Conditions: Excellent during low-light periods, warm-water conditions, and anytime bass are actively feeding near the surface. The smaller Choppo 90 is especially suited for calmer water, while the larger Choppo 105 & 120 sizes can create enough disturbance to fish effectively in choppier conditions.
